We encourage everyone to travel to Nijmegen by train. From the station it is a fifteen minute walk through the city center full of festivities. The Valkhofpark is located on the outskirts of the city center near the bridge, leading to the highway to Arnhem. For people arriving by car it is wise to use this route: after the Waal bridge take the first right and then use the first carpark you come across.
Habana is located just across the river Waal, outside the village Lent. Habana is accessible through the bicycle bridge next to the railway bridge, or cross the Waal Bridge, then follow the dike onwards from cafe Waalzicht.
de-Affaire and Habana take place from 14 to 20 July 2012 and entrance to the festival is free. We do ask you not to bring your own drinks. Together we make this festival possible, and by regulary ordering a consumption at the bars you will ensure there will be a new edition next year.
The festival can be found on three sites and you have a choice of five stages.
de-Affaire is set in the Valkhofpark. At the main entrance of the park you find the Hennes Latin Stage. In the upper park you find the Saddlespan stage and the Barbarossa Ruine. The Club Voerweg, Lift! and in-Motion stages are situated in the lower park along the Voerweg road.
Habana takes place on the other side of the in the river Waal, on the beach of Lent. Besides a lot of jazz, reggae and roots music, this small settlement offers much more to explore, including theater, poetry and children's programs. It's also a beautifull place to just lay in the sand or wade in the water. Just relax, have a bite and a drink and look in wonder at the hustle and bustle of the city.
A fun and easy way to get to Havana is the ferry. The passenger ferry accepts cash and festicaval coins and crosses the Waal every day from 14.00 to 24.00.
